A white wine from La Sirena? Sure. But it's not just any white wine. This is a dry-style Muscat Canelli. Most Muscat is made into sweet, dessert wine. But not this time. With Moscato Azul, you have all the beautiful perfumy, floral character of varietal Muscat Canelli, without the sugar! It's a delightful, fun white wine to go with an assortment of tropical, citrusy, or Pacific Rim type foods. Try striped bass sauteed with orange zest, olive oil, sea salt and a splash of Muscat, or shrimp tacos with Mango salsa! Just chilled on its own, it is also delightful as a summer sipper.
93 AGA stony coolness from the combination of the old vines and the stainless ferments brings a level of restraint and austerity that adds elegance to the layers that quickly build up on the palate. Fruit density from the low yielding vines and toasty notes from the barrel ferments add richness and length. For a cool climate chardonnay it displays remarkable amounts of fruit alongside the expected notes of citrus, stone and oyster shell brininess.
Spicy and boisterous aromas in the glass make the Gewurztraminer truly special and unique. Rose oil and lychee elements along with more classic poached stone fruit notes dominate to nose. The natural structure of this variety coupled with barrel fermentation in new oak adds structure and depth with notes of vanilla and nut spice which further round out the complexity. The exotic aromas are echoed on the palate with a creamy richness without being too heavy.
Lovely interplay between decadent notes of honey and jasmine alongside mouthwatering and lifted notes of green citrus and lemon zest. Showcases some of the density and golden nature of roussanne and viognier, while also shining with grenache blanc vibrancy. Tangerine and clove. Classic Kimsey notes of sea salt and crunchy stone fruit. Grapefruit and truffle honey. Remains fresh and poised with precision and push. An absolute joy to drink today.Inviting nose of beeswax, poached pear, kiwi and spiced walnuts. Silky with notes of pink grapefruit, white peach and sea salt. Sumptuous and seamless texture lifted by a vibrant and fresh push on the finish.
92 POINTS - VINOUS -- ANTONIO GALLONI
94 JSA fresh and clean wine with lovely linear structure that gives the wine energy and power. Medium body, lovely cream and flan and hints of stone. Love the subtlety and length." - James Suckling
The 2006 Pinot Noir Botella reveals a slightly darker medium ruby color, and a fruit-dominated bouquet of red currants, plums, black cherries, and Allspice. Broader, richer, and more savory with additional texture and depth, this beauty can be enjoyed now.
Reserved. Lemon zest, flinty, gooseberry. Smooth and an easy Saturday night drinker.
93 WELight hints of honey and almond lead through grapefruit pith and lemon flesh on the ever-evolving nose of this bottling from the iconic vineyard. There's a firm grip to the sip, where baked lemon, water chestnut, lime-pith and mint flavors cruise into a very long finish. 91 WAThe 2017 Chardonnay Mt Carmel Vineyard, predominately from vines planted in 1990, has a nose of bruised apple, baker’s yeast, apricot and nectarine with petrichor, dried hay and faint white blossom notions. Light to medium-bodied, it's concentrated in the mouth with tons of mineral notions, great freshness and a long, textured finish. This is an unusually earthy and textural style of Chardonnay, but it's delicious and will be amazing with food! 120 cases were made.
91+ WAThe 2015 Chardonnay Mt Carmel Vineyard has a nose of toasted almonds and allspice with a core of ripe pears, peach kernels and applesauce. Medium-bodied with a good intensity of citrus and stone fruit flavors, it has a racy acid line and mineral-laced finish.
2016 G2 VINEYARD
95 ParkerThe 2018 Broken Stones is composed of 49% Syrah, 21% Graciano, 13% Petite Sirah, 8% Grenache, 7% Mataro and 2% Viognier aged in around 60% new oak. Vibrant ruby-purple, it opens to char, bacon fat and violets over a dense core of jammy black and blue fruit with lifting minty accents. The palate is full-bodied and packed with ripe fruits, wrapped in a very firm but finely grained frame and with just enough freshness, finishing on a floral note.
96 points Jeb Dunnuck"The Petite Sirah-heavy 2018 Four Hearts Vineyard (there’s 21% Tempranillo, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 6% Zinfandel) reminds me of a great vintage of Ridge’s Monte Bello Cabernet (I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some American oak in here as well) with its blackberry, blueberry, cigar, and sappy flower aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied and offers a big, mouth-filling texture, beautiful balance, and a great finish. Give it a few years. Drink: 2023-2036. (9/30/21)"
